The Spring of Willcox will be having a benefit yard sale September 18, 2021. Donations are greatly appreciated and if you want to sell your own items you can set up a table for only $10. All proceeds will go to support the ministry of The Spring in reaching out to area youth and families.

September Events

Check out our events upcoming in September at The Spring! We are open Tuesday through Saturday 2PM to 8PM so come in and see us and hang out. We have ping pong, TV, will soon have a pool table and mini-basketball games. Snacks and drinks are also available.

The Spring exists to minister to youth and families. Our vision is grander than merely offering a space for youth to hang out. We want to help prepare them for life, a successful life. For many of our youth, this means ending the cycle of poverty. We believe that charity ought to do good, which means teaching people to fish rather than merely giving them fish. This coming May, we will begin having a sustainability class (4 weeks) for youth who desire to prepare for sustainable lives. Youth who participate in the class will be eligible to receive a scholarship from The Spring. We want to invite your business in. There are a few ways you can help us in our endeavor to equip and help youth in the Valley:

  • Donate regularly as a business or other organization,
  • Place one of our donation boxes at your place of business, or
  • Take advantage of any of our services for your business.

Other Options:

  • Website/logo design
    • We would love to design and build a website for you.
  • Consignment
    • If your business offers goods or prepackaged food, we would love to sell it during our business hours–giving you more exposure and a second selling location. There are no monthly fees, simply a 25% commission on goods sold.
  • Item donations
    • If your business must offload merchandise, we accept donations of items in good condition to sell in order to support our ministry.
  • Metal signage for your business, farm, ranch, or house
    • We offer custom metal cuts according to your needs, and the profits help support our ministry in the Valley.
  • Live music for any occasion
    • We offer live music when and where you need it.

If you have crafts, want to start a business selling your merchandise, or want to turn a hobby into small source of income, ask us about our consignment space. There is no monthly fee and a mere 25% commission on all sales.

Most of our ministry is to youth and families in The Valley, and our youth lounge and shop is open Tuesday-Saturday 2pm-8pm. We have consignment spaces available and want to help new businesses get started by offering our space rent-free. You read that right, rent-free. Why? Part of our mission is to help people in Willcox do well. Further, we want to provide entrepreneurial youth an opportunity to run their businesses at The Spring, teaching them business principles to help prepare them for life after high school.

The new rent-free business opportunity at The Spring

One of the greatest hindrances to the startup of new businesses is the cost–licensing, incorporating, taxes, rent, utilities, website, merchandise, promotions, insurance, and so on. We want to help alleviate some of that and get you on your way to starting your business; we believe our community will profit more and more. Simply fill out the form below and we will get started with your email consultation.

How it works

There are two options. 1) You can do business as part of The Spring, eliminating the up-front cost of licensing, incorporating, and insurance. We’ve got your back. 2) You can get your licensing, incorporate, pay your own taxes and insurance and operate as your own entity within The Spring. If you only have a dream, we recommend starting at number 1, and we will help you with the rest at the appropriate time. If you know what you are doing and just need space, we like starting at number 2. Either avenue you take, our ultimate goal is to get you sustainable and into your own place at the appropriate time. This is part of our non-profit ministry in Willcox and is available to anyone close enough to The Spring.

Doing Business as Part of The Spring

If you are just getting started and need all the help you can get, you can do business as part of The Spring. Since The Spring is a tax-exempt non-profit, you don’t even have to worry about taxes. What’s the catch? All revenue must be reinvested into the non-profit. This is one reason we want to help you register your business and move to number 2 (above) as quickly as we reasonably can–more profits in your pocket. You might ask, “How can I be paid if all revenue must be reinvested?” At this stage, The Spring would pay you a commission as an honorarium, to be decided during consultation, from your sales and investing the rest to replenish your inventory if applicable and help your business to thrive. We’ll include you every step of the way so you can see exactly how your earnings are being reinvested into you. Along the way, we will help you incorporate and get anything else done you need to get done before running your own business and paying your own taxes. You may prefer this option because you can do what you love, earn a commission that is like the profit you’d earn if you incorporated, and only pay personal income tax.

This option is available for most business types, excluding food-service because our current credentials and insurance does not allow for food to be prepared and served while we are open.

This option is available for youth who want to start a business but are not yet able to register their business.

For anyone who takes advantage of this option, we may offer grants to help with the cost of moving you to number two and eventually into your own building. Again, our dream is to see Willcox thrive.

Doing Business Under Your Own Registered Name

If you already have your business name and necessary paperwork completed, we simply want to offer our space until you can find your own place and afford it. You replenish your inventory, if applicable. You pay your own taxes. You use your own POS system. You provide your own insurance. We provide you space rent-free. You might ask, “How can you afford to do that?” Instead of charging you rent, we ask you do donate a percentage of your profits, to be decided during consultation. If you have your own registered business name and necessary registration but don’t want the trouble of managing your own finances, we can create a hybrid of numbers 1 and 2.

Some forms of foodservice can take advantage of #2 or the hybrid option.

Those same grants we mentioned earlier may be available to help you move into your own place when your business is ready.

Other services to help you succeed

Free of charge, your business will be included in some of our ad campaigns and receive a unique page on our website.

When you are ready, we can talk about your own website, branding, and unique ad campaigns–which are some of the services we offer.

Consignment space is available from $6/mo. if you would simply like to display your merchandise and have us sell it for you.

If you plug-in to The Spring, we will be offering college scholarships to those who show that they are interested in building sustainable lives–which benefit the whole community.

The Spring has been a treasured place for youth ministry for the last 13 years. Finally, it is reopen. I have poured my time, sweat, and money into The Spring because I believe in investing in our youth. I believe so much in such an investment that I, along with the other Spring team members, have personally poured in thousands of our own dollars in order to invest in your children through The Spring. Many of you are excited to see The Spring operational again. Here are a couple of highlights:

  1. Our student lounge is currently open from 2-8pm Tuesday-Saturday (we will close early this Saturday to support one of our team members as he preaches).
  2. There are games and activities available for your children at no cost, and we are adding to their options daily.
  3. The Spring is a safe place for them to hang.
  4. We have zero tolerance for bullying.
  5. We are closed on Sundays because we want to encourage families to be in church together.

I want you to know that The Spring is now more than a youth ministry. The Spring is more than a cool hang-out with cool music and opportunities for youth to have fun. We are invested unconditionally in the future of youth here in the valley by building a sustainable ministry that will serve Cochise County for generations. We are even creating a scholarship with our children’s entire lives in view, from chillin’ at The Spring to applying for college to, perhaps, starting their own businesses. This fund is called the Team Willcox Scholarship Fund.

The scholarships depend entirely on donations made to the fund. Through youth ministry, we hope to equip our youth to build a greater Willcox and a better world. I want to invite you to check out this website. Visit and learn what we are all about. Here are some things you can already begin doing:

  1. Pray for The Spring’s new ministry to the youth of Sulphur Springs Valley.
  2. Pray for each one who will come through our doors, receive a scholarship, or apply for a grant later in life.
  3. Encourage your children to come chill at The Spring anytime during our regular hours. Hang with them if you are able.
  4. Consider donating and/or sharing this open letter.

We do provide snacks and drinks at our storefront. We offer parents the opportunity to give their children store credit to spend on snacks. If you know your children are hanging out, store credit is an easy way to ensure they are where you think because they can’t go spend money anywhere else. It is also a good way to keep from having your children carry your cash or card.

The Spring is Open

We are glad to announce that the Spring of Willcox is now up and running and is here to provide a safe, relaxing place for our youth and families to hang out. Though The Spring is still under construction, we have games, places to chill and relax, consignment space available, snacks, and plenty of reading material.

We are also looking to fill out the local artist list for our inaugural Benefit Concert so if you are a musician please contact us by email (luther@christoa.com) or by phone 520-253-1021 so that we can get you on the list.

The time is rapidly approaching that The Spring will start blooming once again. The final steps in acquiring the property are in full motion. We are preparing for a fruitful harvest in the coming days, weeks, and years thanks to all the support we have received from the dedicated people of Willcox, Cochise County, and lands far beyond.

A New Era for The Spring

My name is Luther Stapleton and I am the new Director of Ministry for Christoa Ministries in Willcox. The Spring of Willcox is an answer to prayer for my family and myself as we have been looking for a way to reach out to young people and families of Willcox and the surrounding areas of Cochise County. This prayer has been answered and through the efforts of Christoa Ministries The Spring has been given new life.

We are very excited for what is happening in Cochise County and to continue reaching our Young People and their families we are still in need of supplies to prepare for our Grand Opening scheduled for June 5th, 2021. Help us furnish The Spring and make it a chill place for everyone to hang out, read, do homework, play games, etc… This limited edition hat will not be available after this fundraiser ends and is of perfect, breathable retro style for the culture and windy seasons of Willcox. Be sure to come to our grand opening party to pick up your hat on June 5, 2021. The hat is yours to purchase.

You can also make a donation of 25$ to secure your space. All funds raised will go directly to Christoa Ministries Inc to finance The Spring Center of Willcox.

As you may well know, the poverty rate in Willcox is higher than 20%, which means many people in our beloved town live with less than adequate means. The Spring has always been about serving youth who need a place. As we strive to #savethespring, we want to help a few small-businesses get started. We want to help boost the economic fortunes of the families in our town.

Our first step will be to offer business space rent-free for an indefinite period of time to larger investors. Essentially, this means that you can reserve a space for your business, and the price that would normally only allow you to rent a space for 20 months secures your small business space forever–effectively eliminating that overhead cost and helping you to thrive in a down economy. By taking this step, we hope to build a healthy, symbiotic relationship with small businesses in Willcox and help a few entrepreneurs get started for much less of an investment than would normally be required.

Hey everyone. A few weeks ago, I got connected with a man who knew about a recently closed ministry here in Willcox. After hearing about the ministry and all the good it did for youth and families in Willcox, my heart sank. Willcox needs The Spring.I asked around and, this morning, got to meet John. I have a vision to see The Spring reopened and sustained for decades to come. I’ve been in contact with the real-estate agent handling the property and the current property owner, who is being very generous. I think it is possible to #savethespring.I want to see The Spring continue to benefit the community like it has for the past 13 years and keep the legacy alive.
